Credits & billing
What credits are, what things cost, and how plans work.
Codify meters AI work in credits. One credit represents one cent of AI compute, and you’re only charged for what a request actually uses — a small edit costs a fraction of a fresh build.
What uses credits
| Action | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Chat / planning replies | under 1 credit |
| Small edit to an existing project | a few credits |
| Fresh app or website build | tens of credits, scales with size |
| Game build (design pass + build) | more than an app — the design pass uses the top model |
| Verified sandbox build (compile + self-fix loop) | reserved up front, billed by actual usage |
| Marketing Studio copy batch | ~2 credits |
Plans and packs
Subscriptions (Essential, Pro, Ultra, Max) include a monthly credit pool — higher tiers are exact multiples of Pro. On the web you can also buy one-time credit packs that never expire. iOS subscriptions renew through the App Store, and credits reset on your billing anniversary.
Where your credits went
The credits widget in the builder shows your live balance and updates after every action. Every AI call is metered by its real token usage — no flat fees hiding in small edits.
Tip
Iterating is cheap; rebuilding is not. Ask for changes to the project you have instead of re-describing the whole app from scratch.
